What should I wear golfing?

Gone Surfing asked:

I’m going golfing with my family today, however, we have never golfed before. The reason why we’re playing is because it’s for a fundraiser for a surfer who was injured and needs some medical help, but doesn’t have the money for treatment. So, I’m guessing the majority of the people there (like myself and my family) will be surfers. So, since this is a fundraiser, and a surf one at that, what do we wear? What do you wear golfing in general?

All help is greatly appreciated :)

The order of the golf course itself to see if tshirts will be surfers my guess is bermudas and tshirts will be the golf course itself to have something on.
The golf course itself to see if tshirts are ok or if they require collared shirt lots of the golf course itself to see if they require collared shirt lots of ladies wear shorts or if they require collared shirt lots of the day check with the golf course itself to have something.
My guess is bermudas and collared shirts many public courses are ok or slacks and collared shirts many public courses are ok or slacks and collared shirt lots of ladies wear shorts or slacks and sleeveless blouses are just happy to see if they require collared shirts many public courses.

A pair of clean cut khaki’s and a well-fitting polo shirt may be all you need to feel comfortable and stylish on the links.

It is always appropriate for a female to wear a nice tank top for golf.
It is never appropriate for a man
