I live north of LA and initially I thought about doing a surf school in Malibu, but now am thinking of making a weekend vacation out of it in San Diego. I’m also open to Ventura, Santa Barbara, somewhere further north. Where should I go? Where are the best places for waves and for beginners? Do you know of any great surfing schools? Thanks!

I have quite poor vision and I’m a keen surfer. I usually wear my spare glasses while surfing but lost them last I went during a wipe out.

I’ve heard you can’t wear contact lenses in water. I don’t want to loose my remaining last pair of glasses either.

Laser surgery is not an option.
